It’s official! The Voyager 1 is the first ever spacecraft to leave our solar system. A science team at the University of Iowa estimates the 36 year-old-probe has been traveling through interstellar space for about one year now. That’s the region
between the stars where plasma is found. A radio signals glows (right) from 12 billion miles from home as Voyager 1 boldly goes where no other probe has gone. It is just
outside the solar bubble, where some effects from our sun still occur.
