What were you doing on July 19, 2013, around 2:30 p.m. local time? Some of you might have been waving to Saturn. On this date, NASA’s Cassini spacecraft used its high resolution cameras to take a picture capturing Earth as a pale blue dot just underneath Saturn’s magnificent ring system. In another photo, it actually snapped both the earth and the moon, in the close-up image featured below. That’s the first time that Cassini has captured Earth and the Moon in the same photo.
