A recent study has found that children who play with blocks have increased spatial and math rationale. This increased thinking in the areas of spatiality and math support later learning in STEM related fields and help to support intricate mathematical problem solving in their middle school and high school ages. The study revealed that children who were better at copying block structures were also better at early math learning and that the parent’s use of the words “above” and “below” also played an important role.
Arizona Science Center has opened *The Imagination Playground for a limited time which is made up of many multi-sized and shaped blocks that children can use to dream, create and build. Allowing children to play in this hands-on, giant-block playground will provide important groundwork in supporting later learning skills.
Allow your child to come imagine inside the Science Center and provide them with the tools they need to learn in the future.
*The Imagination Playground will be open exclusively to members until November 22 for $5
