Meet Lilly, a 7 year old girl that loves learning about science and truly “never stops wondering.” It was a huge dream of Lilly’s to spend her Spring Break learning about science at our Spring Break Science Camp, “Wonders of the World,” so she enlisted her siblings and family members to help her raise money in some very entrepreneurial ways.
Lilly started with savings from her family members and created a “Lemonade for Science Camp” stand, where she raised over $125 in just two weeks!
When we heard about this moving story, we were inspired by her passion for science and found her as a well deserving candidate for one of our limited scholarships that are generously provided by our sponsors, the US Airways Education Foundation, the Boeing Company, Cardinals Charities and Summer Youth Program Fund.
Because Lilly’s story touched us so much, we also made Lilly a member of our spring Curiosity Crew, a rotating group of kids who act as youth advisors to Arizona Science Center.
Even more inspiring than this little scientist’s passion for learning is her passion for others. Because Lilly was able to attend spring science camp on a scholarship, she was able to put her hard-earned money toward something else. She ultimately decided to donate the money to another young scientist so that they could have the opportunity to attend the next camp at Arizona Science Center.
After her experience at camp, we interviewed Lilly to learn more about her:
