Arizona Science Center and SARSEF Collaborate to Bring CAMP INNOVATION Summer Camps to Tucson's Youth

Tucson, Arizona – June 12, 2023 – Arizona Science Center and Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF) are delighted to announce their partnership in providing CAMP INNOVATION, a series of week-long STEM camps, to hundreds of students across Tucson, Arizona - Thanks to the generous funding received from Governor Katie Hobbs' office.

Under the leadership of Julie Euber, CEO of SARSEF, the CAMP INNOVATION summer camps will be held from June 12 to August 4, 2023. Open to students in grades 4-5 and 6-8, these camps will be hosted at various locations throughout Tucson, Arizona, ensuring accessibility and convenience for participants.

“We're thrilled to partner with the Arizona Science Center and receive funding from Governor Katie Hobbs' office, which has made it possible for us to bring CAMP INNOVATION to Arizona's youth this summer across Tucson, Arizona”, said Julie Euber, SARSEF CEO. “These week-long STEM camps offer hands-on learning, developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. The intention is for students to get the opportunity to engage with a diversity of STEM topics, with weeks themed by the partner organization hosting the camp. Together with our partners, we're shaping a brighter future for Arizona's young minds.”

Throughout the summer, SARSEF will collaborate with various partner organizations to provide engaging and interactive camps, with each week being uniquely themed based on the hosting partner. This thematic approach will enable students to explore different areas of STEM, fostering curiosity and encouraging a deeper understanding of the subjects.

Participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in a wide range of topics, including robotics, coding, environmental science, astronomy, and more. Through hands-on activities, experiments, and collaborative projects, students will not only gain knowledge but also develop crucial skills that will prepare them for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

“The partnership between Arizona Science Center and SARSEF is a fantastic opportunity to bring CAMP INNOVATION to more of Arizona's youth. We are grateful for the support from the State of Arizona for prioritizing the summer learning of young people in Tucson and beyond,” said Guy Labine, the Hazel A. Hare President and Chief Executive Officer of Arizona Science Center.

Registration for CAMP INNOVATION summer camps is now open and limited.

In case of high demand, registrants will have the option to be placed on a waitlist for additional weeks, ensuring that as many students as possible can benefit from this unique educational opportunity.
