Arizona Science Center Opens a New Exhibition - Dogs! A Science Tail
Opens February 5, 2023
PHOENIX, AZ – February 6, 2023 –Dogs! A Science Tail, a hands-on science exhibition highlighting the dynamic nature of the bond between humans and dogs, is now open at Arizona Science Center.
The highly interactive exhibition invites guests to experience how dogs see, hear, and smell the world. It shows how the ability of dogs and humans to understand and communicate with each other makes this one of the most successful interspecies partnerships of all time. This exhibition was created and developed by the California Science Center with support from Annenberg Foundation and Wallis Annenberg PetSpace. PetSmart Charities is sponsoring the national tour. Dogs! A Science Tail is generously sponsored locally by PetSmart, SRP, Two Pups Wellness Fund, and U.S. Bank.
“This wonderful exhibition on dogs exemplifies how science is everywhere,” said Guy Labine, Hazel A. Hare president and CEO of Arizona Science Center. “Adults and children alike can learn a great deal from Dogs! If you’ve ever seen a dog, this exhibition is for you.”
Experiences range from listening to hidden sounds that dogs can hear but humans can’t, excavating replicas of actual fossils to determine if they belong to wolves or dogs, walking a robot dog through an interactive neighborhood to understand how pets strengthen the community, or testing your pop-culture knowledge during a game of “Jeopawdy!” based on the show Jeopardy!
Onsite events, outreach, and live dog demonstrations are scheduled throughout the exhibition run to both educate and “wow” the audiences. Additional groups and events will be added throughout the exhibition. To view the latest schedule, visit AzScience.Org. Featured groups include the following:
