Arizona Science Center Names Robert Miller as New Board of Trustees, Chair

PHOENIX, AZ - July 23, 2024 - Arizona Science Center Board of Trustees elected Robert Miller as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2024. A Phoenix-based partner and business advisor with Buchalter, an AmLaw200 law firm, Miller has served on Arizona Science Center’s Board of Trustees since July 2006, most recently serving as Vice Chair of the Arizona Science Center’s Board since 2022.

“With more than 30 years of experience as a lawyer and finance professional, Robert’s strategic insight and financial acumen will be invaluable as Arizona Science Center continues to advance our goals and reach throughout the state,” said Guy Labine, The Hazel A. Hare President and CEO of Arizona Science Center. “His exceptional leadership and vision will undoubtedly guide us toward new heights.”

In addition to sitting on the Board of Trustees for Arizona Science Center over the last 18 years, Miller is a current member of the Board and Outgoing Chair of Visit Phoenix.

“I am honored to lead the Arizona Science Center’s Board of Trustees.  The organization’s commitment to fostering innovation through informal science continues to be a driving force within our community,” said Miller “I look forward to working with the Board, Science Center team, our partners and supporters to enhance our programming throughout the state, and make a lasting impact on our community."

The Board and team also recognized outgoing Chair, Anita Theisen, for her significant contributions. During her tenure, Arizona Science Center announced the transformation of the Dorrance Planetarium, expanded its teacher residency program, and participated in the production of the Large Format Film "Jane Goodall’s Reasons for Hope." The Board is responsible for offering strategic counsel and governance to the leadership team and the organization, as well as generating community support for the Arizona Science Center’s programs and services
