Boeing Aviation Challenge
What happens when you combine 20 high school students, three educators, three Boeing aerospace engineers and four CREATE coaches?
During this six-week after school program (October – December 2016), students from three high schools came together with their teachers, engineers from Boeing and CREATE mentors at CREATE at Arizona Science Center® to put their problem-solving and innovation skills to the test. They were challenged to use the engineering design process and the tools and resources of CREATE to create prototypes for three real-world challenges prompted by Boeing engineers: sustainable living on Mars, an airport of the future and air transportation of the future.
FUN FACT: Arizona Science Center provided a week-long professional development for the three participating teachers to take back the resources and culture of CREATE to implement into their own classrooms.
